And so we wait

We have been at the shelter for 7 years now. A profound affect has been noticed by the community and the city. The kill rate has gone from 89% to 9%. The dogs are getting out -- and not in body bags. Now we wait to see if the city is willing to form an alliance and partnership with us. We've proven we can do it. We've proven that an animal advocate in a city-run shelter can make an impact.

I have high hopes. Without hope what do we have? I dare not think about the negative aspects.

Second Chance Pet Rescue

This is a small shelter that has a big heart.  I wish they got more support from their city.  We adopted Weaver the wonder dog that Debbie rescued.  He has quite a story and ended up at the Butte Humane Society in Chico where we adopted him.  We live in Oroville and I called Debbie because I heard she really loved Weaver so I drove over to Corning so she could visit with Weaver and see how well he is doing.  Second Chance Pet Rescue can really use all the donations they receive and when I have extra money it will definately go to the "Weaver Medical Fund".  Great job Debbie.
